The general objective is to give students a global vision of the role of space in the processes of economic development, as well as the mechanisms that lead to the processes of equality and/or inequality of the different territories within the different existing theories of development. More specifically, in the case of regional economics, the aim is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and techniques to solve economic location dilemmas, as well as to solve local development problems from a socio-economic perspective. With regard to urban economics, the specific objective is similar, i.e. to help students become familiar with technical and urban policy tools for the management of city systems and to enable them to design viable urban systems from an economic, social and environmental point of view.
